Tara Mitchell, DO is passionate about healthy kids and her focus is your child’s future. She is married and has two children ages 9 and 7, a boy and a girl, and is a follower of Jesus. Dr. Mitchell has dedicated her life to understanding the obstacles to avoid and strategies to implement to set your child up for good health and a positive future. She will take the time necessary to help you because she recognizes the critical importance of childhood and adolescence on your child’s adult life.
Growing up in Princeton, WV gave Dr. Mitchell the understanding of the needs of the people here and a love and compassion for this community. She attended Pikeview High School and later the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV. Dr. Mitchell served the area as a Pediatrician from 2008 through 2018 and is now returning in 2021. She is married and has two children ages 9 and 7, a boy and a girl. She is a follower of Jesus Christ having given her life to the Lord in 1993 and the relationship God has shaped her personally and professionally.

Dr. Tara Mitchell is a native of Mercer County having grown up in Athens, WV and graduating from Pikeview High School. She attended the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV and completed residency training at ETSU Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, TN.
Dr. Mitchell practiced in Princeton, WV for 10 years prior to starting Lively Pediatrics in May 2021. Her faith in Jesus has produced in her a passion for setting kids up for their best possible future and coming alongside parents and caregivers to help them with this most important responsibility.
Dr. Mitchell is married with two children, ages 9 and 7. She enjoys family, traveling, hiking, movies, 80s music, and serving her local church.
